- Karl Malone is known as
- ΓÇ£The MailmanΓÇ¥ because,
- on the basketball court,
- he always delivers. In his
- first nine seasons with
- the Utah Jazz, the powerful 6' 9", 255-pound
- forward averaged 26 points and 11 rebounds
- per game.

- Karl played his college ball at Louisiana Tech.
- Utah selected him with the 13th pick in the
- 1985 NBA draft. In Utah, Karl teamed up with
- point guard John Stockton, who had joined
- the team the season before. With JohnΓÇÖs
- passing and KarlΓÇÖs scoring, they became one
- of the most productive offensive duos in
- basketball history.

- Karl was among the league leaders in
- scoring and rebounding
- in eight of his first nine
- seasons with Utah. He
- was voted to the all-NBA
- first team (the leagueΓÇÖs
- post-season all-star squad) six straight years.
- In 1992, Karl played on the Dream Team,
- which won the gold medal in basketball at
- that yearΓÇÖs Summer Olympic Games. In 1993,
- Karl and John made history by becoming the
- first players from the same team ever to share
- the All-Star Game Most Valuable Player
- Award.
